The Strasbourg Recreation Centre, built in 1976, is home to Strasbourg Maroons Hockey. The curling and skating rink are complete with artificial ice, lunch counter and heated bleachers in the hockey rink area. Ice time can be rented for any teams not able to acquire enough ice time at home. Phone:  (306) 725-3300 or the facility manager (306) 725-7212.

Late each summer, Strasbourg Minor Hockey begins with its registration meeting where decisions are made and people volunteer for various jobs for the year. By October, we are off and running with hockey school. Games begin in November and we are off to the races. Our organization is small as there is not always teams in each age category. but we have a group of hard working, creative, determined people who keep the show running. Our volunteers at the rink, our parents, coaches, managers, executive, and fundraising people put endless hours into our children’s hockey. We have some talented players in our midst and they are a joy to watch. The season is long, and we even do some fundraising events in the off season but that is just the way things are in a small town.  We will do anything to keep the rink open and anything for our kids.

Strasbourg Curling Club

Our club is part of the Strasbourg & Community Recreation Centre. We are quite active with four sheets of artificial ice. Our club celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2009. The present curling rink was constructed in 1983.

Our season usually begins mid-October and ends in mid-March. All regular scheduled curling is mixed curling of all ages. We have league curling Monday evenings and Thursday afternoons. Tuesday evenings have competitive league curling. Youth curling is Thursday afternoons after school. Senior, Annual, Ladies, Youth, and Fun Spiels usually occupy the weekends.

Come down and view some of the curling events. Better yet, join the fun and curl for yourself. New members are always welcome. For further information, the phone number at the rink is (306) 725-3009 or call Ray Craswell at (306) 725-3236.
